If you’re looking for a delicious, hearty, and satisfying spaghetti dinner, this homemade recipe is it! Packed with ground turkey and beef, sautéed veggies, and a rich tomato-based sauce, this meal is a family favorite and perfect for any night of the week.
The best part? We’re using simple ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen, and the flavor is absolutely chef’s kiss. Let’s get into it!
Ingredients:
To boil the pasta:
• 1 pack spaghetti
• 1 tbsp chicken bouillon
• 1/2 tbsp salt
For the sauce:
• 1 tbsp oil
• 1 small green bell pepper, diced
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 1 small tomato, diced
• 3 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 lb ground turkey
• 1/2 lb ground beef
• 1 tbsp onion powder
• 1 tbsp garlic powder
• 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
• 1 tbsp chicken bouillon
• 1 tsp ground black pepper
• 1 tsp Sazon
• 1 tbsp tomato paste
• 1 jar Prego Tomato Basil Garlic pasta sauce
• Reserved pasta water (fill the empty jar once pasta is drained)
• 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
• 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
1. Boil the Spaghetti
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add in 1 tbsp chicken bouillon and 1/2 tbsp salt for flavor. Cook the spaghetti until al dente according to the package instructions. Before draining, fill the empty pasta sauce jar with the pasta water and set aside. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
2. Sauté the Veggies
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped bell pepper, onion, tomato, and minced garlic. Cook for about 3–4 minutes or until the vegetables are soft and fragrant.
3. Cook the Meat

Add the ground turkey and ground beef to the skillet. Break the meat apart and cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess grease if needed.
4. Season the Sauce
Season the cooked meat with onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, chicken bouillon, ground black pepper, and Sazon. Stir in the tomato paste to deepen the flavor.
5. Add Sauce and Simmer

Pour in the entire jar of Prego Tomato Basil Garlic pasta sauce. Fill the same jar with the reserved pasta water and pour it into the sauce. Stir everything together and let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 8–10 minutes.
6. Finish and Serve
Add in fresh chopped parsley and grated Parmesan. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss everything together until well combined.

heyy, what happens if i don’t have sazon seasoning? can i use something else or i can ignore it
A good substitute for Sazon seasoning can be a combination of garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and annatto (or paprika and turmeric for color). You can also use Mexican taco seasoning as it contains many of the same spices. For a quick substitute, especially if you have it on hand, Goya Adobo seasoning can be a decent alternative
